Alexander J. Hynde, 86, of Akron, passed away December 23, 2009. Alex was born September 3, 1923 to the late Leonard and Evelyn Hynde. He served two tours of duty during World War II in the South Pacific. and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 39 years of service. In his free time, Alex was a master watchmaker and enjoyed golfing. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; and sisters, Ruth Roberts and Jean Kerr. He will be deeply missed by his children, Tim and Brad (Diane) Hynde; brother, Melville "Bud" (Dolores) Hynde; grandchildren, William, Alex, George, Jonathan, Jessica, Cameron, and Christian; numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Graveside service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park.
