Alexander (Brother) G. Kura
Alexander (Brother) G. Kura 65, of Akron, passed away peacefully at his home on March 25, 2016. Alex was born on April 23, 1950 to Alex and Sarah Kura. A lifelong resident of the Akron area, Alex graduated from Ellet High School in 1968. He previously worked at Harwick Chemical and MacTac. He was baptized at Presentation of Our Lord Romanian Orthodox Church. Alex was a very unique person who had a love for life and people. He always greeted people with a warm smile and big hug. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a listening ear. His personality shined through with the bright and colorful clothes he loved to wear. He loved spending time with his grandchildren more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Sarah Kura; and father-in-law, George Greathouse. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Judy; step-children, Jeff (Cortney) Kruger, Donnie (Mel) Kruger, Cheryl "Peach" (Mark) Demyan, Tommy Kruger, and Timmy Kruger; sisters, Mary (Richard) Rife of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sarah Hale of Akron, and Pat (Bud) Shepard of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, DeAnna (Greg) Miller, Sarah Cunningham-Dietz, Cameron Kruger, Cale Kruger, Noah Demyan and Aden Santillan; great-grandchildren, Layla and Gregory Miller; mother in-law, Doil Greathouse; sisters and brothers-in-law, Larry (Pauline) Greathouse, Shirley (Donnie) Testa, Eula (Chet) Harlin, Loretta (Duke) Goodrich, Dale (Cheryl) Greathouse and Tim Greathouse; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 5-7pm with the memorial service starting at 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. To help celebrate Alex's life, feel free to wear bright clothes.
