Alfred J. "Fred" Alvarez
Alfred J. "Fred" Alvarez, 73, passed away on December 15, 2008. He was born in Akron, OH on July 30, 1935 to the late Fred U. and Laura Alvarez. Fred grew up in a family owned business (Fred's Bakery), where he became a master cake decorator. He was later employed by Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Co. as President of Kaase Baking Division. Fred was also the owner/operator of the Short Stop Inn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Ann Alvarez. He is survived by daughter Michelle (Tom) Dickerson; sons Fred J. Alvarez and Dan (Cindy) Stumpo; sister Sue Ann (Manuel) Prieto; grandchildren Paul, Sydney, Lisa, Courtney, and Casey. In honor of his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no calling hours. Many thanks go to the wonderful caregivers at Alter Care of Hartville and Hospice of Summa.
