Alfreda Mary Pierce

Alfreda Mary Pierce, 89, passed away June 20, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Massillon, Ohio to Clarence and Mary (Hoover) Rohr, she resided in the Akron area most of her adult life. Freda belonged to St. Matthew Church, where she enjoyed making rosaries. Freda also liked watching football on TV, donating to many charities and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Curly" Pierce; son, Frank Pierce; brothers, Kenny Rohr, Donnie Rohr. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Nita Thacker (Nick Huth), Melba (Ron) Sparks; grandchildren, Amy (Mike), Brynn (Regis), Todd (Michelle), Tray, Charles, Matthew; several great grandchildren; siblings, Tom (MaryAnn) Rohr, Pauline (Bill) McKarns, Marty (Russ, deceased) Vebelun; many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Fr. Mike and the church members who made sure Freda was able to get to the church for mass. Also a huge thanks to Summa Hospice for their kind and loving care of Freda. One other thank-you to Debbie, who did Freda's hair every Saturday.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 2580 Berne St., Akron, Ohio 44312. The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Freda's name to the charity of their choice.
