Alice E. Holman, 73, of Akron, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 27, 2010. She was born in Akron on May 26, 1937 to the late Benjamin and Thomasine Pope. Alice was a very loving person and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Edward; and sister, Janet Blackwell. She will be deeply missed by her children, Edward (Phyllis), Randall (Christine), Michael (Lesley), and Kelly Burnette; brother, (Thomas (Ellen) Pope; grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Kayla, Erik, Lauren, Joshua, Carrie, Jerry, Jeff, and Michael; and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
