Alice Hignite

Alice Hignite, 87, passed away peacefully December 21, 2022. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, she resided in the Akron all of her adult life. Alice enjoyed reading books, sending cards for all occasions to friends and family, watching the Browns and the Tribe as well as Dancing with the Stars and she loved life to the fullest.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Perrine and Judy Marchok. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Dana (Jim) Gibitz; sister, Pat Swigeart; brother-in-law, Andy Marchok; many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Heather Knoll for their loving care of Alice for over 5 years.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Alice's name to the charity of their choice.
