Alma J. "Joann" Woods, 76, of Akron, passed away November 30, 2006 at her residence. She was born April 11, 1930 in Dixie, West Virginia to the late Harry & Bertha (Hill) Smarr. Alma loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren, attending all of the functions they were involved in. She enjoyed gardening and doing yard work in her free time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, John Thomas Woods; brother, Harry Smarr, Jr.; sisters, Hope Elswick, Betty Clonch and Dimple Drennan. She is survived by her husband, Nute Woods of Akron; daughter, Nicole Johnson (Aljavaughn) of Akron; sons, Nute J. and Terry L. Woods both of Akron; sisters, Mona Sue Baker (Charlie) and Harriette Sizemore (Therald) both of Dixie, West Virginia; grandchildren, Aliteanna Nicole, Cilecia R., A'Chantee Selena and Javaughnie Joanna Johnson; nieces, Judy Cogar and Tamara Baker; nephew, Tommy Baker; numerous other nieces, nephews and family. According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation has taken place. Condolences may be sent to Nute, 3430 Albrecht Ave., Akron OH 44312 or Nicole, 30 E.
