Amelia Annis (Maione), age 89, passed away on November 7, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was born on Valentine's Day 1924 in Krebs, Oklahoma. She worked at Goodyear Aircraft during WWII. She is a Lady's Auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign War post 3383.
Amelia's amazing zestful spirit and loving heart dazzled everyone who met her. She was alive with joy and kindness.
Amelia is survived by her two daughters Darla (Ken) Kot and Lexanne (Don Rust) Annis, grandchildren Kenny (Anne) Kot, Alex Kot, step grandchildren Rhonda (Tom) Harry, Rusty (Angel) Grosse, Ryan (Sabrina) Grosse, many treasured nieces and nephews, great grandchildren Sophia and Amelia Kot, and step great grandchild Isabella Fox.
She was preceded in death by her parents Enrico and Mary Maione, husband, Lex Annis, sister Carrie (Charles) Neale, and brothers Louis (Sylvia), Nicholas, Dominic, Angelo (Ann) and Tony Maione.
Special thanks are given to Amelia's sister-in-law Dorothy Maione for her wonderful love and support.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, 44305, where also a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at Briarwood Nursing Home (3700 Englewood Dr, Stow, OH 44224) for the 15 months Amelia spent there. Thanks also go to the gentle, loving staff of the Akron General Hospice (#1 Home Care Place, Akron, Ohio 44320). In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to these organization.
