Amy Lynn Barber, 45, of Akron, passed away on November 5, 2015. She was born in Akron on March 19, 1970 to the late William and Claudia Powell. Amy graduated from Ellet High School in 1988. She was an avid bowler and spent two years coaching the bowling team at Ellet High School. Amy loved animals and rescued many dogs over her lifetime. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Amy is survived by her husband of 29 years, Derrick; children, Dustin Barber and Claudia Barber; and her longtime best friend, Lisa Foster. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
