Andrew "Butch" John Kraus, 74 of Akron, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, and the love of his life of 47 years, Andrea Sue Kraus, on March 13, 2022 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born November 18th, 1947 to the late Andrew and Barbara Kraus.
Andrew was a 1965 graduate of Kenmore High School. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. He worked for Diamond Crystal Salt Co./AKZO Nobel for more than 30 years. He owned his own payphone business after he retired for 10 years. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather a.k.a PaPa. He was a HUGE Michigan Wolverines fan. GO BLUE!!! He also enjoyed singing karaoke with his wife, granddaughters, and friends at the clubhouse. There isn't anyone who can forget his version of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'". He looked forward to spending time with his family and cherished every moment.
He is survived by his sons Robert (Heather) Kraus, Michael (Sondra) Kraus; his daughters Kristi (Ben) Grossholz and Jamie Mizer. 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided our father.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00PM Thursday, March 24 at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 North Canton Road., Akron 44305) with visitation following until 6 p.m.
