Andrew S. Marchok, age 87, a lifelong resident of Akron passed away on January 22, 2025, after a life well lived. He was born on December 20, 1937 to the late Paul and Anna Marchok. He was a graduate of Garfield High School class of 1957. He joined the National Guard with his twin brother and brother-in-law. Andy worked for many years for the Akron Board of Education and retired from Reiter Dairy. Andrew married Judith Perrine on July 15, 1960 and spent 61 loving years together. He was an avid gardener winning Neighborhood Beautification Awards, painter, and handyman. Andy enjoyed classic cars and won many awards for his ’57 Chevy Belair. He lived a life of service for his family, neighbors, and church. He was a member of Akron Baptist Temple where he served as an usher. Andy and Judy were best known for their holiday celebrations and traditions, especially Easter egg coloring, pumpkin carving, and making Christmas memories.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children Dean (Ruth) Marchok, Kimberly Dye, Darin (Teresa Pace) Marchok, Mark (Ellen Kerr) Marchok; grandchildren Dustin, Amanda, Miranda, Alexandra, Jacob, Chloe, Marissa; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Kate, and his twin brother John.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith, siblings Anne, Mary, Pauline, Paul, Carol, and Barbara.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, and again from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
