Andrew B. Pennington, known to his friends as Andy, passed away on January 6, 2024. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 1, 1958 to the late Andrew Toliver and Elizabeth Pennington.
Andy will always be remembered for his artistic talents. He brought his creativity to everything he did in life. A natural entrepreneur, Andy owned several business over the years. His interest in auto mechanics led him to obtain a degree as a diesel mechanic. He also loved woodworking and carpentry. He was very organized - everything in his home was neatly arranged and in its place.
Andy loved spending time outdoors and traveling. His mother taught him how to fish as a child and some of his favorite times were spending the day catching catfish and cooking them for family and friends. He loved family get togethers where he was always in charge of the grill. Andy had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his sister, Amelia James.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Valencia Denise Young; his children, Talayna Richardson, Andrew T. Pennington, and Andray D. (Rakeshia) Pennington; brother, Roland Pennington; sister, Deborah (Mark) Greenwood; grandchildren, Shirley McCullough, Alana Pennington, Andrew Simmons, LeVar Davis Jr., Zion Davis, Aaliyah Pennington, Aliviah Pennington, and Nova Pennington; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Andy's life will be celebrated at a later date.
