ANDREW GEORGE "ANDY" STOCKARD SR.
January 1, 1949 - January 26, 2023
Andrew received his wings to reunite with his loving parents, Ethel R. (nee Pulce) Stockard and Frank B. Stockard, older brother, Frank J. Stockard, son, Edward Morton Sr., grandchildren, Javante Stockard, Jordan Bruster.
Andrew was known for his loving spirit and uplifting smile, he started bowling at a young age and continued bowling until 2022, where due to illness, retired from bowling. He was a member of TNBA Bowling Association. Bowling on several local league and the Rubber City Travelers NTBL. Coach for the Junior bowling league for several years. Graduated from Garfield High School in 1967, where he was a member of the Band playing the tuba. Member & manager of the Helping Hand Social Club played softball for HHSC, and member of the Bar Managers Association.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of service, starting as a journey man from there, to an electrician apprentice. Earning several certificates, diploma on higher education to further himself on the job.
Andy leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Nardella "Del" Stockard; his brother, Ferdie (Marcia) Stockard; his sons, Rodrick "Rod" Stockard, Demetrius "Tony" Stockard, Andrew G. "Jay" (Alyssia) Stockard Jr, Andre "Dre" Stockard, Marcus "Baggz" (Latoya) Morton, and Jesse Gooden Sr.; his grandchildren, Rodrick "Tez" Stockard II, Jazmine Stockard, Joshua McGowan, Alyssa Holland, Demetrius Brown, Jace Stockard, Mariah Holland, Shawn Thomas, Amaiya Stockard, Edward Morton Jr., Jesse "Lola" Gooden Jr., Jaemeir Gooden, Breana Rodgers, Jayla Campbell, Marcus Morton, Na'Riah Stockard and Avianna Stockard; and two great-grandchildren; a special niece, Cassandra "Cassie" Stockard-Ware; special and loving aunt, Frances Gowens and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
