Angela Leighton

September 24, 1960 — February 12, 2025

Angela Leighton, a cherished soul, left this world on February 12, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on September 24, 1960, Angela graced the lives of those around her with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering passion for life.

Angela's love for holidays and parties was contagious; her enthusiasm for celebrating life’s milestones brought together friends and family in ways that created lasting memories. Known for her remarkable ability to remember everyone’s birthdays, dates, and events, she was quite the historian in her circle, always recalling significant moments with detail and affection. Her infectious spirit brightened every celebration, whether it was seasonal gatherings or spontaneous get-togethers.

A passionate lover of rock and roll, Angela’s heart danced to the rhythm of life. She found immense joy in concerts and the thrill of roller coasters at amusement parks, relishing every exhilarating moment they offered. Her love for Harry Potter transported her to magical realms, where she found camaraderie with the characters and inspiration in their adventures. Angela often shared her affinity for bears, along with her beloved pets.

Traveling brought her much joy, notably when she could do so alongside her family. Those leisurely trips became treasured memories, filled with laughter and love, etched forever in the hearts of her beloved ones.

For over two decades, she served the YMCA with a spirit of commitment and kindness, working in housekeeping and ensuring that families felt welcome and at home.

Angela is survived by her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Shawn Lawler; her niece Amanda (Kyle) Branham; her nephews Alex Leighton and John Lawler; her great-nieces Lucy and London; as well as aunt Louisa and uncle Harvey, aunt Judy, and many cousins and friends who will carry her spirit forward in their lives.

While Angela reunites with her beloved parents, Bob and Betty Leighton, her uncle Joe LaMarca, and her grandmother Naomi Ross in eternal peace, her joyful essence will forever echo in the laughter of those she has left behind. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of love, celebration, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

A celebration will be scheduled in the near future.
