Ann 'Red' Copeland Wilson
Ann was born in Akron, Ohio March 9, 1928 to Dewey and Willanne Copeland. She graduated from South High School. She went on to attend Kent State University. On December 21, 1950 she married Harold Wilson. From this union five children were born.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother. She also helped her husband run the family business Globe Press Printing Company. She continued to run the business when Harold went to fight in Korea. Ann also worked as an Interior Decorator for Marvin Wolf Interior Design Company, and she was employed as a Window Dresser for Akron's Polsky's Company. Ann decided to make a career change because of her loving and nurturing nature. Ann chose nursing. She worked at City Hospital until she retired. After retiring Ann decided to help children by teaching them to read. She worked at Akron Schumacher Elementary School in the LRC. Ann loved working in the yard and her flowers.
Ann 'Red' was preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Willanne Copeland; nephews, Richard 'Dickey' Bronner, Welvin Copeland, Robert 'Bobby' Burton, Jr.; brothers and spouses, Herman (Ann) Copeland, Dewey (Mary) Copeland, Bishop Alvin Copeland; sisters, Lillie Hanna Burton, Margurite (Charles) Bronner; daughter, Susan Ann Wilson; grandson, Jacinth D. Baker; great-grandson, Tyrell S. Jones.
Ann 'Red' leaves to mourn her passing, husband of 59 years, Harold Wilson; brother, Charles (Donna) Copeland; children, Denise Arnold Wilson, Harold 'Duane' (Alicia) Wilson, Jr., Babette Wilson, Gregory (LaVerne) Wilson; sister-in-law, Sarah Copeland; brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Burton, Sr.; six sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; best friends, Faith Robinson, Mary Miller, Mr. Newby; and her special neighbors on Orlando Avenue.
The family would like to thank these doctors for the special care Ann received from them: Dr. Bonyo, Dr. Restivo, Dr. Lewandowski, and Attorney David Eastman and all of their staff.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a procession will form for an 11 a.m. service at St. Philip Episcopal Church, 1130 Mercer Ave., Akron, with Pastor Christopher Hale officiating.
