Ann Louise Melvin, 90, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2024. A lifelong resident of Akron, she was born on January 3, 1934 to the late Arthur and Ada {Cornell} Smith.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband John in 2008; sisters Alice Mason and Anita Anderson; brother Allan Smith.
Ann is survived by her loving children John Melvin, Brenda (Delbert Yoder) McCrea, Keith (Elaine) Melvin and Dana (Donald) Snuffer; sister Audrey (Jerry) Scalf; grandchildren Beth (Michael), Kristy (Michael), Joshua, Faith and Riley; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ann was a talented seamstress, and she enjoyed crafts, especially doll- and ornament-making. She collected butterflies and thimbles the most, but her home was a treasure trove of knick-knacks of all kinds.
Ann's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the Summa At-Home Hospice team for their compassionate care.
