Anna M. Cooley, 102, of Akron, passed away on April 9, 2025. She was born on December 22, 1922 the daughter of Fred and Katie Winter of Carmi, IL. Growing up on a farm instilled in Anna a strong work ethic which she carried throughout her life. Anna retired after many years of dedicated service from the University of Akron Food Services. She was a woman of faith and attended Grace Baptist Church in Akron. Anna was known as a master quilter, a craft she approached with both skill and love.
In addition to her quilting, Anna had a profound love for cooking and was best known for family gatherings and her delicious Christmas Cookies which she shared with many.
Those who knew Anna could attest to her kind heart, not only for her loved ones but for all living creatures. She was a giver, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her compassion extended to dogs and cats as she held a special place in her heart for them.
Anna M. Cooley leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and kindness that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William B. Cooley; and siblings Frances, Earl, Virtus, and Flora.
Anna is survived by her loving family, children Randall Cooley, Ramona Freeman, and Rodney (Paula) Cooley; grandchildren Aaron (Sandy), Austin (Julie), Allen, Alex (Nina), and William (Emily); great-grandchildren Aidan, August, Aubrey, Landon, Levi, Teddy, and Benjamin; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
