Annie Hughes

Annie Hughes, 84, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2024. Born in Perryman, Maryland to Wade and Margaret Cline, she resided in the Akron, Ohio area all of her adult life. Annie was married to Jay Hughes for 46 years before he passed away in 2003. She enjoyed bowling at Roll-A-Way Lanes, camping for over 20 years at Whispering Pines Campground, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Hughes; special friend and love, John Porter; sister, Nancy Sills. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Deb (John) Harless; granddaughter, Amanda Harless; " dear twin cousin", Marie "Ree" Goodsell; many other family and friends throughout her life.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to Annie's dear friends, Bill and Cheryl Rankine, Bob and Rosemary Gilbert for their loving care and friendship.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, March 4, 2024 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd., Akron. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association or the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Jay and Annie's memory.
