Anthony V. DeMali, Jr, age 73, a lifelong Akron resident, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1939 to the late Anthony and Mary (Adamov) DeMali, Sr. Former Owner of Citgo and Exxon service stations for 40 years, employed with Stan's Towing company for 10 years, and retired as a police officer with Marshallville Police Department. Anthony's joy in life was his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Sisters, Dolly, Gerri, Nancy, and Marilyn. Anthony leaves behind his Wife of 50 years, LouAnn (Wisener) DeMali of Akron; Children, Anthony (Charlene) DeMali, III, Kimberly (Michael) Petrovich, and Cynthia (Joseph) Hanlin; 7 Grandchildren, Michael (Josephine), Anthony, Makenzie, Julia, Emily, Quade, and Valerie; Siblings, Jeanette (Andy) Hershberger and Donald (Faye) DeMali. Anthony was deeply loved by his many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
