Anthony Martin Elmert
Anthony Martin Elmert, 83, of Hartville, passed away March 3, 2005 at Altercare of Hartville. He was born March 20, 1921 to the late Anton & Rose (Magos) Elmert and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Anthony was a member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God and also Local 219 Plumbers and Steam Fitters. He loved music and played the clarinet, ukelele and sang. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey J. Elmert; sisters, Justine Holb, Elizabeth Peyakov and Katherine Spence. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen M. (Aikey) Elmert of Hartville; daughter, Paulette S. VanPelt of Tampa, Florida; sons, Terrence (Sharon) Elmert of Atwater and Anthony W. (Ruth) Elmert of Georgia; grandchildren, Anita, Heidi, Terrence, Kimberly, Jeremy and Joshua; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Roselle (Robert) Bosley and Evelyn Thomas; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd., with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Roma officiating.
