Anthony Philip George, Jr., "Tony", age 65 of Akron, Ohio, died on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Barberton Hospital.

He was born on May 13, 1953 in Akron, the son of the late Anthony P. and Rose (nee Rodgers) George, Sr.

Tony was a 1971 graduate of Hoban High School and attended Akron University. He was a car salesman for 30 years at various dealerships. Mr. George was also a licensed independent massage therapist by the State of Ohio Medical Board for the past five years. Tony enjoyed race walking and swimming at the Natatorium in Cuyahoga Falls with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed hiking at the gorge and Metroparks with his wife and his loving and faithful dog, April. He was a gifted musician, self-taught keyboardist, guitarist, and vocalist. Tony was an avid Sci-Fi Star Trek fan and had a passion for politics. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Anthony was a man with a deep and abiding faith. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Church and long standing member of Visitation of Mary Church, both in Akron.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rose Arnold, whom he married on March 24, 2000; his children, Anthony P. George, Andrew P. George, Alison M. (Stephen) Belknap, Aaron P. George, and Mason J. Arnold; and he was Jiddo to two granddaughters, Elizabeth S. and Coraline J. Belknap. His siblings also survive, Donna (Joe) Nattans, Joanne (Ron) Zumpano, Sharon (Jack) Hamad, Victoria George, Philip George, Jacquie Algaier, Adel George (fiance Tim Falconberry), and Joe (Stacy) George; and countless nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Marie Kadi Elias.

A Memorial Mass will be at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, Ohio 44224 on Friday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m.
