Anthony Joseph Izzo
August 2, 1936 — December 21, 2022
Anthony Joseph Izzo, 86 years old of Akron, Ohio passed away on December 21, 2022 after a recent illness. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated from The University of Rhode Island. He attained his Ph.D from the University of Connecticut and built his career in the national defense industry and higher education administration. He traveled widely, enjoyed performing home improvement projects, and read extensively.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Laura (Gambardella) Izzo; sister, Norma Rose (Izzo) Peck; and son, Christopher Thomas Izzo.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; brother, Joseph (Carol) Izzo; son, Anthony J. Izzo, Jr.; daughter, Susan (Daniel) McClory; grandchildren, William R. McClory and Harrison K. McClory.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thanks are extended to the physicians and staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center and Hospice for their exceptional efforts and care for our cherished husband, father, and grandfather.
