Anthony William Arapp
Anthony passed away at his home on March 4th at the age of 92. The son of William and Emma Arapp, Anthony never knew his father who died when he was an infant. He cherished his mother who also lived a short life and missed his brother Frank every day since his passing in 1986. Born February 16th, 1920, Anthony has reunited with all loved ones who preceded him in death including beloved grandson Eric Ruegg, great-granddaughter Aubrie Ketterman and Mel Carden his brother-in-law and best pal. His wife of 59 years, Katherine, will miss him greatly. Tony also leaves his son Anthony Arapp, daughters Christine (Rich) Austin and Cheryl (Dave) Ruegg all of Akron and son William of California. Known as "Deda" to his grandchildren, they always enjoyed his wry sense of humor and sometimes crotchety attitude; they are Kristen Arapp and her son Luke, Anthony James "AJ" and daughter Kamrynn, Allison (Jake) Ketterman and their son Aiden, Ben (Jenny) Austin, Jason (Melissa) Ruegg and daughters Morgan and Maggie, Ryan Ruegg, Aaron (Rachel) Ruegg, and Brennan Ruegg. He spoke often of how proud he was of his family. Other survivors include brothers-in-law Bozidar Simich and Merle Boll Sr., sisters-in-law Ruth Perich and Doris Perich, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. An auto body repairman most of his life, Tony liked to keep busy. He loved fishing and playing the lottery. He received loving care from his doctors, nurses, caregivers, and the gals at Ellet IGA. Thank you all. Cremation and a private interment are planned. In honor of Dad, take someone out to breakfast, go fishing in the spring, or buy a Rolling Cash 5 ticket and donate the winnings to Hospice of Summa.
