Antoinette Ward (Nee Macchiarola)

Antoinette Ward (nee Macchiarola), loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away March 12th at her home. Born in Akron on November 25, 1924, to the late Angelina and Michael Macchiarola, Antoinette was a member of the Father Duffy Ladies Auxiliary, The Council of Italian American Societies and the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Joseph's Church where she prepared and served funeral luncheons for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raleigh P.; son-in-law, Donald Hargis; granddaughter, Julie Rauckhorst; grandson, Donald R. Hargis; siblings and in-laws, Lena (Elmo D'Angelo); brothers, John (Yolanda), Tony (Kitty) and Nick (Ruth). She is survived by sisters, Louise (Ken) Wilson, Rose (the late Nick) Carone; brother, Joseph (Judy); children, Mary Ann Rhines of Munroe Falls, Debi (Ed) Rauckhorst of Stow, Rose Pittser of Cuyahoga Falls, Robert and Dennis of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Brian, Brent and Brandon Rhines; Amy (Eric) Maghes, and Andrea Rauckhorst, Toni Marie and Nicholas Hargis, Adam (Marianne) Pittser, and Andrea (Russ) Preisse; great-grandaughter, AnnaMarie (Maghes); and cat, Charley. Antoinette will always be remembered for her love of family and friends, her warm smile and quick wit.
