Anton Carl Jaeger

Anton C. Jaeger, age 72 of Akron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 1, 1950, the son of the late Francis and Alice {Warg} Jaeger.

In addition to his parents, Anton was preceded in death by his brother Robert Jaeger.

He leaves behind his loving wife Evelyn Jaeger; sisters Barbara (Jack) Marchese and Maryanne (John) Loguercio; brother Frank (Gloria) Jaeger; daughter Alison DeGroff; sons Frank (Carrie) and Robert (Lynn) Jaeger; grandchildren Arial, Sam, Kari, JJ, Matt2, Maddie, EmilyJo, Bailey, Josh, Kalysta and Sophia; many other family and friends.

Anton was born in New York, but later made a home for his family in Akron. He worked for Heidelberg Inc., retiring in early 2020. He was an avid member of Hoban football's chain crew. He also found joy in performing magic tricks, metal detecting and going to casinos. Anton was an avid Giants and Yankees fan.

All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Saturday, October 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and again from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9.
