Anton J. "Joe" Nickolich, 75, of Akron, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on February 25, 2018. Anton was born in Akron, OH to the late Anton and Dolores Nickolich. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a proud member of the Army-Navy Club and the American Veterans Club. Anton was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and camp, but above all he cherished spending time with his beloved family.
Anton will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 37 years, Margaret Nickolich; children, Kristy (Michael) Phillips, Brenda (Rex) Magee, Norma Jean (Allen) Drake, and Joseph Nickolich; grandchildren, Samuel, Isaiah, Grace, and Nathan Phillips, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Esker and Diane (Richard) Esker; brother, Richard Nickolich; brother-in-law, John (Cindy) Campbell; and cousins, Mary (Dave) Brand, and Michael (Cecelia) Nickolich.
Family and friends are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, on Thursday March 1, 2018 to visit from 6pm-8pm, and again on Friday from 10am-11am. A funeral ceremony will take place at Newcomer on Friday at 11am. Inurnment will be private.
