Archie Bierlair, 81, of Akron, passed away February 24, 2006. Archie was born in Coalport, Pennsylvania to the late Authur and Lisa Bierlair. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Archie was a thirty year member of AA and a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; son, Gerald; daughter, Gloria; seven brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his children, Eva (Terry) Shaw, Larry (Carol) Watson, Roger (Bobbie) Watson, and Harold (Patrice) Watson; sisters, Lucille, Christine, Felicia, and Elizabeth; brother, Victor; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phil Hulgin officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Scholarship Fund. Online condolences may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com.
