Arlena J. Gray

Arlena J. Gray, 80, passed away peacefully at home March 20, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Millstone, WV to Willard and Louie (Offutt) Garrett, she resided in Akron, OH all of her adult life. Arlena enjoyed gardening, hiking, trips to Myrtle Beach as well as back home to West Virginia, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Arlena was preceded in death by her siblings, Hurthel Garrett, Bob Garrett, Mildred Justice. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Jim; children, Greg (Sally) Gray, Tammy (Craig) Devaney; grandchildren, Tyler Gray, Libby (Tyler) Butterfield, Andy Gray, Karly (Tance) Kline; siblings, Cleston (Kay) Garrett, Maudie Pfamatter, Wilma Mowrey; sister-in-law, Leah Garrett; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Arlena's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of their choice.
