Arlu L. Poling

Arlu Lavon Poling born February 28, 1956 in Huntington West Virginia, peaceably left to dwell with her Savior at 1:35AM on December 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Poling was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Millie Trippett, her Brother Lester and her son Jerry Hess Jr. 

She is survived by her loving husband Rick Poling, her sister-in-law Diana, her step son Michael, her sister Heather Robinson, her brother David Trippett, sister-in-law Jill Trippett.

Arlu worked for Akron Polymers and retired in 2022. She has been a resident of Rootstown for the past 38 years. Arlu loved trips to Canada every year with friends and family to fish for walleye. She loved fishing in the mountains of West Virginia catching rainbow trout and riding in a UTV side by side on various mountain trails. She had a passion for catching striped bass in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. She always said being in the outdoors you are closer to God. She enjoyed trips to southern Ohio visiting antique shops, flea markets and Amish farms.

She enjoyed playing cards, board games, cook outs and camping with friends and family. In her spare time, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles with a cup of coffee always by her side.

Per Arlu's wishes cremation has taken place. The Family will be having a Celebration of her Life at 1:00pm, on Saturday January 11, 2025 at the Suffield United Church of Christ in Suffield, Ohio on Rt. 43.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve that provided her with excellent care and compassion throughout her journey.
