Arthur W. Butler

Arthur W. Butler, 70, of Palmyra Twp., passed away November 22, 2005 at his residence. He was born January 22, 1935 in Akron, Ohio to the late Leland C. & Goldie M. (Carsey) Butler. Arthur served in the U.S. Army in 1958-1963. He was a charter member of Baptist Bible Church, Masonic Lodge #316 in Kent, the Grotto and A.A.S.R. Valley of Canton. Arthur lived in the Akron area all his life. He enjoyed helping people, he loved his church and worshiping the lord and also spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William A. Butler. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Juanita S. (Smith) Butler; daughters, Sondra S. (Kevin) Hyatt of Elyria OH, Goldie M. (Scott) Hosey of Diamond OH; sons, Sherman C. (Cathy) of Kent OH, Stanley E. (Dawn) of Newton Falls OH, James A. of Ravenna OH; 10 grandchildren; sister, Freda Pruitt of Akron OH. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Vince Hardy officiating. Interment will follow at Palmyra Cemetery.
