Arthur E. Freed
Arthur E. Freed, 76, born May 17, 1935 in Akron, passed away March 27, 2012 at his home in Mogadore. Arthur was raised in Pemberton, New Jersey and the Philadelphia area. He worked in the nightclub business as a bartender and manager and in furniture sales with Value City Furniture until retirement. After retirement, he worked as a professional clubfitter with DV Golf in Akron. Art was passionate about playing golf for many years being a single digit handicap. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elsie L. (Moody) Freed; sister, Mary E. Freed-Ciconte; and brother-in-law, Gregory Narusch. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Paula; daughters, Cheryl Ann (John) Polk of Junction City, KS and Lori Freed of Fredricksburg, VA; grandson, Vincent; brother, David (Lydia) Freed; stepchildren, Kraig Gabelman and Kristy (Ned) Archer; stepgrandchildren, Paul, Timothy, and Katelyn; brother-in-law, Timothy (Neva) Narusch; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in Ohio and Alabama.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 31 from 3-5 followed by a 5:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Private interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Art's family.
