Audrey Vera Carpenter

Audrey Vera (Martin) Carpenter, age 97, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother left this earth to be with her Father in Heaven on February 16, 2013. She will live in our hearts forever. Born in Fairview, Indiana in 1915, she moved to Akron in 1922 and graduated from East High School. She worked as a lab technician and retired from BF Goodrich. Audrey was a member of the Tallmadge Church of Christ, a true Christian lady.

Preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Gordon Carpenter and brother, Aaron Martin. She is survived by her loving children, Martin (Lynn) Carpenter and Cheryl Brooks; grandchildren, Michael (Marina) Carpenter, Melissa (Norb) Berninger, David (Carolyn) Schott, Cristy (Bob) Stepka and Stephen (Gail) Schott; great grandchildren, Alicia, Courtney and Natalie Schott, Angela Bullock and Ryan and Eric Schott.

Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the funeral home with Lewis Willis officiating. Final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
