Averd A. Johnston

Averd A. Johnston passed away on August 6, 2023 at the age of 86. He was born on March 8, 1937 to Clarence and Bonnie Johnston in Horner, WV. He served his country in the United States Army. He loved to paint, fish, be in nature, fix and build things. He was a jack of all trades but most importantly he stayed home and took care of his kids.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his five children, Bill Johnston, Laura (Kevin) Sisson, Amy Gifford, Megan Johnston and Jennifer Johnston; grandchildren, Taylor, Shelby and Brianna Johnston, James Hutchison and Savanna Sisson, Austin and Hunter Kelly-Johnston and Leila Gifford, Isaac, Noah and Madison Johnston and Rian Scherer; great-grandson, Zayden Hutchison; sister, Linda (Jim) Lee; niece and nephew, Tammy Mather and Tony Trenoff.
The family would like to thank the staff at Longmeadow Nursing Home and Summa Hospice, especially Becca, for their phenomenal care during this difficult time.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
