Barbara J. Carter, "Barb or Ikie", age 79 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 3, 2022 at Pleasant View Health Care Center.
She was born on August 3, 1942 in Sutton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Franklin and Mary (nee Thayer) Green.
Barb was a very active member of the Spiritual Temple of Praise Church in Norton. She enjoyed going to church. Barb was a very feisty individual and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her only daughter, Alice (John) Leib; her grandchildren, Curtis Adkins and Barbara (Mel) Mayhorn; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Logan, Nevaeh and Charli.
Her brother also survives, Franklin (Kathy) Green.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, where Rev. Ronald Chaffman will celebrate Barbara's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.
Barbara will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
