Barbara Drain, 61, passed away February 8, 2021. She was born in Canton, Ohio August 15, 1959, graduated from Abington Schools in Jenkintown, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Al and Verneda Drain, and her brother-in-law Bill Freeze.
She is survived by her sister Verneda Eileen Freeze, with whom she made her home for 29 years, brother Jim (Joyce) Drain, sister Nancy Drain, Uncle Bud Clear, Aunt Edna Cordy, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She enjoyed her friends at Catholic Charities and UDS, was outgoing and friendly. She loved music and dancing, and was a regular attendee at Stow Jazz Nights, parading with her umbrella to the "Saints". She had a special gift of remembering facts about U.S. Presidents and their wives, movie stars, musicians, and composers. She served as the family's reminder of everyone's birthdays until dementia stole that ability from her.
Our very special thanks go to her social worker, Rhonda Mallard, Family First Residentials owner Daphine Painter, and special caregiver Judy McGowan. They provided a safe and loving environment for Barbie in her last year. They became a part of our family and we will never be able to thank them enough.
Due to the dangers of Covid, there will be no services. Barbie will be buried in North Canton Cemetery.
