Barbara Jean George

Barbara Jean George, 61, passed away peacefully after a lengthy health battle on February 4, 2025 with family by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to James and Mary Lou (Carney) Kroft, she grew up in Akron and South Lyon, Michigan. Barb met her husband while in college in Missouri and later returned to Akron, where they were married and spent the rest of their life. She was a longtime member of Faith Family Church in Canton. Barb's greatest passion was her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed music, singing, theater productions, serving in her church, watching General Hospital and spending time with her family and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, James Kroft; father-in-law, Charles George. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 36 years, David George; children, Tiffany George, Christian George, Selena (Trent) Lewis, Andrea George; granddaughters, Willow Patton, Ember Lewis; mother, Mary Lou Kroft; mother-in-law, Janet George; several aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Bethel Church of Tallmadge, 231 South Ave, Tallmadge, Ohio. The memorial/celebration service will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Floral arrangements in memory of Barb may be sent directly to the church.
