Barbara J. Hayes

Barbara J. Hayes, 67, of Akron, passed away on May 31, 2018. Barbara was born in Saxapahaw, North Carolina on June 7, 1950 to the late Jim and Minnie Douglas. Barbara retired from General Tire after 22 years of service and then retired from the University of Akron. She devoted her life to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris and Rachel Douglas; and brother, Charles Douglas. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Roger Hayes; beloved daughter, Dr. Tracey Hayes (Dan Dreifort); dear sisters-in-law, Linda (Jay) Small, Barbara (John) List, Debbie Hayes, and Katrina (John) West; many other relatives and friends. Barbara's family will be planning a celebration of her life for later in the year. Announcements will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a local animal shelter.
