Barbara A. Henderson

Barbara A. Henderson, 80, of Akron, went home to be with her Lord on August 28, 2019. She was born in Charleston, Missouri on June 26, 1939 to the late Landis and Thelma Glass. She served alongside her husband, Pastor O.L. Henderson at churches in Michigan, Canada, and Ohio for over 45 years, before retiring in 2000. Barbara retired in 2012 after 27 years of service as an Administrative Assistant and Treasurer in the Church of God State Executive Offices.
Barbara leaves a loving family: her beloved husband, Rev. O.L. Henderson; daughters, Doris Fuson and husband Rev. Rick Fuson, and Geneva Noel; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Rev. Floyd A. Pratt; half brother, Gary Glass; half sister, Lisa Glass; nephew, Rev. David (Thresia) Pratt; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Nelson, Sarah (Jason) Walkerow, Brandon (Missy) Noel, Natalie (Jim) Allen; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Cash, and Gage Nelson, Ayden and Cadence Walkerow, Raina Noel, Abby Weikart; Aldous and Malcolm Allen; many, many friends across the country who have been influenced by her life of serving and loving. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Rick Fuson officiating at East Market Street Church of God, 2084 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44312. Barbara will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, Michigan at a later date.
