Barbara Ann Israel, 84, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 10, following a long illness. She was a resident of Rockynol Nursing Home for the past several months.
Barbara was born in Whitesville, West Virginia, on January 19, 1932. She graduated from Whitesville High School, Class of 1950 and later attended Charleston Business College. She moved to Akron, Ohio in the early 1950's and resided in Goodyear Heights for the last forty-eight years. "Barbie" enjoyed playing games, especially bingo, planting her garden, tending to her flowers, and spending time with family. She had an outgoing, fun loving personality and no one was a stranger as she could quickly engage anyone she met in friendly conversation.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband William (Bill), daughter Patricia Ann Krbec (Michael) of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter Sandra Lou Lott (Kenny) of Akron, Ohio; daughter Michelle Renee Hildreth (Rich) of Akron, Ohio; and Vicki Ilene Dennewitz (Dean) of Canton, Ohio. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way, 1 great great grandchild , several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was a member of the Yusef Khan Caldron for many years and enjoyed the fellowship.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 15, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio, 44305. A celebration of Barbara's life is planned at the funeral home for Friday, December 16, beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
