Barbara "Barb" E. List

Barbara “Barb” E. List, 73, of Akron, passed peacefully at home with her husband and daughter by her side after a 15 month battle with lung cancer. Barb was born on February 26, 1951 in Akron, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Lorraine Hayes. She graduated from Hower High School in 1969. She worked for 29 years as a bailiff for the City of Akron Court System. She retired from the Summit County Juvenile Court under Judge Linda Teodosio. 

Over the years, Barb enjoyed traveling with her husband and family. She loved to visit the casino and play slots. Barb had a green thumb and took great pride in caring for her yard. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. 

She is now reunited with her beloved grandson, Tyler, with whom she shared a special bond; her sister, Debbie Hayes; and sister-in-law, Barbara Hayes. 

Barb is survived by her husband of 28 years, John List; daughter, Jennie (Eric) Bloniarz; son, John (Sarah) Allen; step-daughter, Suzanne Neil (Chris Deem); step-son, Michael (Julie) List; grandchildren, Jacob, Aubre, Brant, Taylor, Aubrey, and Allyssa; great-grandson, Elias; brother, Roger (Glenna) Hayes; sisters, Linda (Jay) Small, and Tina (John) West; and many other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will take place on Saturday February 8, 2025 at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, from 12pm until 1pm. A memorial service will take place at 1pm.
