Barbara J. Midcap, 84, of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She was born to parents Paul and Eunice Kline on September 17, 1936 in Akron.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and husband of 31 years, Carl Midcap.
Left to cherish Barbara's memory is her loving husband of 19 years, Lee Schreckengost; children, Robert P. Buchanan (Veronica), Rebecca Williams (Jon); grandchildren, Jon, Brandon (Lindsay), Jordan, and Kyle; great-grandson, Jase Paul.
Barbara loved her family very much, especially spending time with her grandsons. She often enjoyed reminiscing and laughing about old times. She and Lee would often travel, and would go to McAllen, Texas where they had a home for the winter. They would RV with friends and family in Ohio. She was a member of the Eagle's in Manchester, and a longtime member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church. Barbara loved her high school girlfriends, the "Gad About Girls", and would visit each other's house once a month, and sometimes go out to dinner together over the years.
In the end, Barbara knew that her beloved grandmother, Mabel Sumerix's loving arms would be waiting for her in heaven.
Memorial donations may be made in Barbara's name made to the Justin T. Roger's Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron OH 44333.
A special thank you to the amazing care shown to Barbara and her family during her time at the hospice center.
Private services celebrating Barbara's life will be held at a later date by the family.
