Barbara Jo Riley
June 29, 1934 — September 4, 2018
September 4, 2018, we lost a remarkable woman, Barbara Jo Riley (84) of Akron, OH as she entered Heaven's gate after a short illness.
She is survived by her former second husband, Mike Riley; sons: Donnie (Nancy) Watson Jr, Greg (Cherrie) Watson, Christopher (Naomi) Watson, and Curt Riley; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous loving family and devoted friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Watson, Sr.; and an infant son, David Allen Watson.
She retired from Eastwood Drug after 30 years of service. She enjoyed planting rock gardens and outside activities.
Barb was an amazing mom who loved Jesus, was confident, strong, independent, determined, and understanding with unlimited wisdom.
Jada (granddaughter) asked her, "how do you know so much grandma?" She whispered, "I close my eyes and listen."
She attended Spiritual Temple of Praise and she lived to do for those she loved. Attending Tops Meetings with her pals made her especially proud. She was a blessing to all who crossed her path and her memory is etched in our hearts forever.
Calling hours will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5 – 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Rd, Akron, where services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11 am with Pastor Emlous Lattea officiating.
