Barbara Romanish, 67, of Tallmadge, passed away May 30, 2007 at her residence. She was born April 22, 1940 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Charles & Hazel (Shaner) Blair, Sr. Barbara worked for over 20 years at Charter One Bank as a teller. She lived in the Akron area most of her life and was a devoted wife and mother. Barbara loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling and country music. Barbara collected salt & pepper shakers and had over 600 pair in the collection. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Lowers; and daughter, Linda Lowers. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Mark Romanish of Tallmadge; daughters, Barbara (Eugene) Lanni, Debra Lowers and Janet Lowers; sons, Donald (Helen) Lowers, James Lowers and David Lowers; step-children, Dorothy Bolyard, Susan Boling and Mark Romanish, Jr.; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Blair and Diane Blair; brothers, Charles Blair, Jr. and Terrance Blair, Sr. Calling hours will be Friday, 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday with Pastor Jay Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
