Barbara Ann Vargo

Barbara Ann Vargo, "Barb", age 86 of Barberton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022.
She was born on March 23, 1936 in Barberton, the daughter of Margaret (nee Rhodes) Kish.
Barb worked and retired from the Barberton City School System after 35 years as a librarian.
Barb liked to play bingo, she was an avid reader and played cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Ashley. She never missed any event in which her granddaughter participated.
Barbara was a strong believer in her Catholic faith, she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and she prayed the rosary every day.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, William L. Vargo Sr., whom she married on November 22, 1958; her son, William L. Vargo Jr; one granddaughter, Ashley (Dennis) Millsaps; and one great-grandson, River William Millsaps.
Her siblings also survive, Bruce "Jack" (Karen) Parsons, Jay (Judy) Parsons, Jane "Janie" (Mike) VanHook, Janet (Ron) Conrad and Joyce Howard; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn her loss. And also surviving is her best friend and furr baby, Reese.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice Floor at Barberton Hospital for their kindness and care shown to Barbara.
Barbara will be cremated and her cremated remains will be placed in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
Per Barbara's wishes, there will not be any calling hours or services and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
