Barbara J. "Granny" Voth Janis
Barbara J. "Granny" Voth Janis, 62, of Brimfield, passed away January 23, 2008. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Barbara enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and camping, had a love for cats and dogs, and enjoyed visiting her home state of West Virginia. She also loved collecting things, especially ladybugs. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and was known as "Granny" to all her family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Gentry. She is survived by her husband, Terry Janis; daughters, Vicki (Ken) Slama and Denise (Dan) Sedgwick; dad, Jim Gentry; siblings, Pam (Don) Eberly, Terry (Colleen) Lambert, Debbie (Ed) Furscik, Fred (Marcia) Lambert, and Jimmy (Barb) Gentry; grandchildren, Morgan, Gavin, Hattie, and Perrie; the father of her children, Eric Voth; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Payne and staff for the care given to Barbara. Through eye donation, she gave the gift of sight. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernom Odom Blvd., Akron. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph.
