Barry C. Smith

Barry C. Smith, 73, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on March 16, 2022. He was born in San Francisco in 1949. In his twenties, Barry spent a lot of time playing the bass guitar in the band Orphan Egg and the band went on to win The Battle of The Bands in 1968-69. In 2006, he began volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America and eventually became a Scoutmaster. There he was nicknamed, "Blue Bear," which he loved. He was also devoted to his church, St. Paul Episcopal Church in Akron. Barry loved the outdoors and could often be found hiking and camping. He was a caring father and friend and will be dearly missed.
Barry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Taylor and Victoria Breden; daughter, Justine Breden; sister, Christine (Paul) Stacker; other relatives and friends.
Per Barry's wishes, there will be no formal services and his family will celebrate his life privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
