Benedetta M. Shinn
Benedetta M. Shinn (nee Fontana), 83, passed away March 27, 2010. She retired as a Nurses Aide from Millersburg, Ohio after 12 years of service, and moved to Cuyahoga Falls afterwards to be closer to her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Luigi & Catherine Fontana; brother, Thomas Fontana; and daughter, Karen Sue Shinn. Benedetta is survived by her children, Laura (Scott) Dawson, Ken (Judy) Shinn, Julia (Craig) Keen, and Robert (Kathi) Shinn; grandchildren, Rebecca and Jerry Conner; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Mary Sarac, and Bombina Gregg; brother, Dominic (Jill) Fontana; and many other family members and friends. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 31, from 4 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, April 1, at 1 pm. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
