Benjamin "Ben" Rader, age 79 of Uniontown, passed away on February 6, 2022.
Ben was born on June 15, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to Edward and Agnes (Donelson) Rader. He graduated from East High School in 1961. Ben served in the US Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He retired from Goodyear after 27 years, driving over 450 miles a day to test tires. Ben was very thankful for his heart transplant in 1992, which extended his life by decades. Ben had a passion for cars; he took pride in detailing cars for his family and friends, and he collected Die Cast cars. He loved bowling in his younger years, and recently enjoyed going to the casino. He loved having game night once a month with his family, especially playing with the grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Charlotte Fisher, sister-in-law, Rebecca Wilson
Ben will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda, son, Randy (Heather) Rader, grandchildren, Steven (Erica Markovich) Rader, Kayla Rader, and Jordan (Brett) Hawkins, Steven and Kayla's mother, Nikki Rader, brother-in-law, Harold Wilson, siblings, Peggy Danzy, Lucille Yeary, and Robert Thompson, life-long friend, Harry (Linda) Cox, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may come to call on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 12-1 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. A service will follow at 1 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
