Bernadine Ruth Powers

Bernadine Ruth Powers (Collins) passed away on October 16, 2024 after an extended illness. Bernie was 94 years old, born April 3, 1930 in Norton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, William R. Powers (1999) and also her brothers Stazel and Nelson Collins and sisters Fern (Meeks) and Janet (Yoho). She is survived by her sister Noreeta (Yoho), her sister-in-law and longtime friend Linnea Romocean, her daughter Hiedi Fitzpatrick of Boiling Springs, SC. and sons Glenn of Wadsworth and Terry of Ellensboro, Wa.; grandchildren Hilary Powers Reyes, Georgette M. Hamrick, Steven Fitzpatrick, Grace Fitzpatrick, Heather Swartz, Jessica Harris, and Kate Powers; her great-grandchildren Madison Treptow, Jasmine Powers, Gavin Hamrick, Gage Hamrick, Danny Hedrick, and Gregory Hedrick, Vivianne Harris; and great-great-granddaughter Mia Ayala. Bernie was a gentle soul and a sweet, caring, kind person and will be missed by all her family and by her friends at Woodlands Liberty I where she lived! Her final resting place will be at North Springfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
