Bernard E. Cody "Bernie", 59, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully January 5, 2022 at the Cleveland VA after a battle with vascular dementia and lymphoma. Bernie graduated from Ellet High School in 1980 and served in the U. S. Air Force at Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas from 1980-84. He was a Master Union Carpenter (Local 285). Bernie built his own home, displaying his carpentry talents on YouTube videos as well as Facebook. He was a nature enthusiast, an avid traveler who enjoyed long trips on his motorcycle, site seeing, whitewater rafting, and camping.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 23 years, Helen; mother, Shirley Cody; siblings, Teri Hanna Cody (Bill), Bill Cody (Patty), Stewart (Tammy), Linda Meyling (Charlie); daughter, Jessica; grandchildren, Melena, Elijah; great grandson, Ellis; step-daughter, Jennifer Mosley Pridemore (Neal); step grandchildren, Xander, Xoey; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
